Jeff Brown, Senior Vice President and General Manager |

Jeff joined Sperian (then Bacou-Dalloz) in late 2001. He came to Sperian Instrumentation in early 2007, after having successfully run the Company’s Eye & Face Protection Division for the previous 3 years. Prior to taking over that division, Jeff was Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Eye & Face.
Jeff has a long career in both Marketing and General Management. Jeff spent 10 years in senior marketing roles with BIC, the global manufacturer of Pens, Lighters and Shavers. Prior to that, Jeff ran a variety of divisions for Collins Co. Ltd, one of the world’s largest international trading companies.
All departments at Sperian Instrumentation report to Jeff.

Doug Hurne, Manufacturing Manager |

Doug has been with Sperian Instrumentation (then Biosystems) since 1983. He began his career as a Technician shortly after graduation from Technical College. Two years later, Doug was promoted to the Engineering Department where he worked as a laboratory aide. He played various roles within the Engineering Departments before taking over Manufacturing in 1987. As Manufacturing Manager, Doug ensures that the Production, Purchasing, and Shipping departments all run smoothly. He additionally oversees building maintenance and maintains Biosystems' company-wide computer network.
Doug continually studies worldwide Manufacturing techniques and practices, and has made innumerable contributions to Manufacturing quality, efficiency, and process standardization. Among his many accomplishments, Doug has:
- Designed the manufacturing floor layout in our new world-class facility
- Redesigned manufacturing into "Product Cells"
- Implemented a highly effective waste-reduction program
- Implemented a Kanban material acquisition system for automatic material replenishment
- Developed self-directed work teams
- Installed Biosystems' company-wide Novell computer network
- Developed Biosystems' custom Accounting and Manufacturing software
- Developed and implemented the Process Control, Purchasing, Control of Nonconforming Product, Product Storage & Handling, Inspection & Test, and Packaging and Delivery sections of our ISO 9001 certified quality system.

Bill Sawka, Director of International Operations |

Bill started at Sperian Instrumentation (then Biosystems) in 1991 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hartford. After a few years, Bill's interpersonal skills made him the clear choice to become Customer Service Manager. Bill was promoted to Marketing Manager in 1999 after completing his Master's of Business Administration at Rensselaer at Hartford. In 2007 Bill was promoted to Director of International Sales. As Director of International Sales, Bill is able to put his technical and creative talents together to expand Sperian Instrumentation's presence in developing markets. |

Ray Rosati, Director of Engineering |

Ray first joined Sperian Instrumentation (then Biosystems) in 2001. He holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. Ray draws from a broad work experience with a variety of electronics companies in CT in the fields of fuel cells, motion control and even digital printing.
At Sperian Instrumentation, Ray leads an experienced team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, plus a chemist, in designing and testing Sperian's world-class products. Ray’s accomplishments include overseeing the development of the Toxi Pro/Ltd, MultiPro, IQ System and IQ Express. |

Dave MacDonald, Quality Manager |

When Dave began working for Sperian Instrumentation (then Biosystems) in 1990, he had already been working in electronic manufacturing for more than a decade. Dave is a graduate from Windham Technical School, but credits most of his technical knowledge to the time he spent in the US Navy as a Communications Technician. Dave’s attention to detail and relentless drive to improve our products impact everything we make. As Quality Manager, Dave is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 processes to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. |

Arletta Greenwald, Divisional Controller |

Arletta joined Sperian Instrumentation in July of 2007. Prior to that, she spent 10 years as Controller & Assistant Treasurer for Durham Manufacturing, a manufacturer of metal products and 10 years at Spirits manufacturer, Heublein, Inc.
At Sperian Instrumentation Arletta is responsible for all financial functions including cost accounting, financial and corporate reporting, general accounting and asset control.
Arletta holds a Bachelor of Science from Central Connecticut State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
